Canada’s new quarter

Canada has a sense of humor. The new quarter is going to have a cartoon Moose on it which was designed by an 11-year-old boy who won a design contest. I wish the U.S. was more lighthearted about things like this. I guess the state quarters were a little less serious than the rest of our coins but they are no way near as cool as this.

Kaitlyn and Joey forever!

So yeah, I haven’t written in my blog in forever. Since I started working, my body has been adjusting to the new schedule and it hasn’t been pretty. I love being busy and working and doing the school thing (though I really dislike law and i’m taking a business law class right now), but I’m looking forward to having a couple of weeks off from school for the holidays. Ironically I’m looking forward to it so I can get ahead in my homework so I won’t have to worry about discussion questions, simulations, and all that jazz for the rest of the class.

Anyway, if you know me well.. you know I’m a Degrassi fan. I’ve been watching the Degrassi shows as long as I can remember watching TV. I watched Degrassi Jr. High, Degrassi High, the Degrassi movie that came out after the end of Degrassi High, and now I’ve moved on to Degrassi the Next Generation. I just have a thing for guys that say “aboot.” If you know anything about Degrassi, you know that Kaitlyn and Joey are everyone’s favourite on-again-off-again couple. At any rate, they just got back together (hopefully for good this time) on the current series, and I’m sooooo excited! I love both characters, and I grew up with them. I love the writing on the Degrassi shows and I hope they bring back more of the old characters. Spike and Snake are married, Joey and Kaitlyn are together, and hopefully they’ll bring Wheels and Lucy back more often. When it comes to Degrassi, I just can’t help myself. I have a thing for those silly Canadian children and their shenanigans.

Is it Cold in Here?

So yeah.. if you didn’t know by now, I’m in friggin Canada. I’m staying in Markham which is about 30-40 minutes outside of Toronto. I’m having a blast up here but I think I need some friggin sleep. I also need some food. This is the third day in a row I’ve been up with the birds and sleeping in the wee hours. I don’t care though because it’s all good. This hotel is really nice and has zippy internet access too. Hopefully they’re not charging me for this lest I be very surprised when I get my room bill!

Anyway, I’m going to go have something to eat and maybe go for a walk provided my digits don’t fall off in the cold. I’ll try to blog intermittently while I’m up here. Post any questions you have about Canada to the comments. I’ll try to have real Canadians answer them.
