Hey Ya!
I realize that there is a lot of deep rooted psychological manipulation involved in the writing of a pop song. Furthermore, putting those simple (sometimes inane) lyrics over a catchy hook is the work of purely evil producers and writers. I have a problem escaping from the hook of a certain Outkast song. I hear it in my head when other songs are on the radio, I hear it in my sleep, I hear coworkers singing it, of course I hear it on the garsh darned radio, and Jason has it on his Tibook. I simply can’t escape, and believe me I have tried.
I have considered forcefully jabbing my thumbs into my ears with the aim of penetrating my tympanic membranes (eardrums - see I’m using my degree). Of course I don’t think I’ll be able to get my thumbs in that far. Of course I could use sharp implements like pencils or pens, but the effect wouldn’t be the same. I will figure out some way to make the song stop penetrating my existence even if it involves mutilation or attacking several electronic devices.

A Canadian in Florida
Jason is here in Orlando right now and I think he likes it. Aside from the humidity, and this horrible rain that he brought with him, I think he’ll like it here. So far we’ve had a lot of fun and I can’t wait for work to end so I can get back home to him. Hopefully he’ll find things to do to keep himself occupied while I’m at work. There’s a lot of cool things to do out on International Drive, only problem is the weather today is disgusting. I haven’t seen it rain like this in at least 5 or 6 months. No Go Karts for pookums.
My law class is almost over and there are few things that get me as happy as I am about this. I hate this class. I hate Law. I don’t really try too hard to pull high grades in this class, so I know I’m not going to get an A, but I’ll settle for a B or a B+ so long as it keeps my average over 3.0. The only thing left for me to do is to post my Weekly Summary and after that I’m done! YAY!
I haven’t updated my blog very much lately. Between work and Jason’s visit I’ve been tied in knots. Jason’s blog and my blog might be getting married soon. Don’t know what we’re going to do yet, but I’ll keep you posted. This will be the first time we officially blogged together and it’ll help us keep our content more fresh. I think we should just write in one blog, but he’s got something up his sleeve, so we’ll see what happens.

..spammy badness..
I didn’t realize how many forms spam could take until recently. I’ve had every type of spam e-mail you could think of from marketing crap to get rich quick schemes. Though you might not personally consider it spam, but pop up ads, pop under ads, and those websites you accidentally surf to when you mistype a url.. those all get lumped together with spam in my head. It’s not informational spam so much as it’s a visually invasive type of spam issue. I don’t know if that makes sense to you but that’s how I feel when I am subjected to it.
Anyway, a healthy discussion of how Elise feels about spam is not the point of this post. My blog has been subjected to comment spam, my boyfriend’s site has been subjected to comment spam, and most major blogs that I visit have been subjected to comment spam provided that they leave their comments open. This is an unfortunate situation. It’s not bad enough that I get over 100 spam e-mails a day to all of my personal accounts, but I also manage to pull in my fair share of comment spam lately. I actually banned IPs and domains because of it. The only good thing that’s come out of all of this spammy horsecrap is that the next version of Movable Type is going to have an option for registration to leave comments. Goodie gumdrops.
I also wanted to apologize for not being too commentish lately. I’ve been busy with work and school, and might have the flu right now, and Jason’s visiting in a couple of weeks… busy busy! I am also holding off on doing too much with my blog until I know more about MT 3.0. Anyway I’ll post again relatively soon.
